The fishing grounds around Daecheongdo and Yeonpyeongdo in the West Sea, bordering North Korea, will be significantly expanded.

The newly added fishing grounds are equivalent to 58 times the area of Yeouido in Seoul (2.9㎢). By fishing ground, the area south of Daecheongdo will increase by 144㎢, and the western end of the southern fishing grounds near Yeonpyeongdo will increase by 25㎢.

However, the fishing grounds around Baengnyeongdo were excluded from this expansion due to security and maritime patrol issues.
Incheon City expects that the fishing ground expansion will lead to increased catch volumes and job creation, resulting in an annual income increase effect exceeding 8.2 billion KRW.
