Sonideon to Participate in InterBattery 2024... Exhibiting 'Cell Auto Extractor,' a Preprocessing Solution for Spent Batteries
Sonid's subsidiary SonidOn (CEO Jinseop Kim), a KOSDAQ-listed company, announced on the 6th that it exhibited a battery cell automatic extraction device (Module to Cell Separator), a battery pre-processing equipment that dismantles battery modules and automatically extracts battery cells, at InterBattery 2024.
InterBattery 2024 is the largest battery industry specialized exhibition in Korea, held at COEX until the 8th. A total of 500 companies, including global battery giants such as LG Energy Solution, Samsung SDI, and SK On, participate to showcase various new products and technologies related to batteries in energy, automotive, ESS, and mobile sectors.
According to SonidOn, the exhibited cell automatic extraction device automates the battery cell dismantling process, which was previously done manually, resulting in ▲minimized battery cell damage ▲reduced labor costs ▲shortened work time.
Previously, manual dismantling using electric saws caused battery cell damage and work time varied greatly depending on skill level, making the process inefficient. In contrast, SonidOn’s technology enables battery cell dismantling in just 1 minute and 30 seconds.
Jinseop Kim, CEO of SonidOn, stated, “The recent focus in the battery pre-processing business is efficiency and cost reduction. Battery pack dismantling is a very important part of the battery pre-processing process, and our innovative technology will contribute to improving efficiency and profitability.”

SonidOn operates businesses involving the collection, storage, performance inspection, and dismantling of electric vehicle batteries nationwide. Since the battery recycling business determines whether battery cells dismantled from battery modules are reused or recycled after performance inspection, SonidOn’s business can be seen as a core stage in the battery recycling industry.
