Muan-gun Promotes Digitization and Database Construction Project for Cadastral Documents
Risk of Loss and Damage Due to Long-Term Storage and Prevention of Tampering and Forgery
Muan-gun, Jeollanam-do (Governor Kim San) is promoting a project to build a computerized database of permanently preserved cadastral documents generated in 2023 to provide prompt administrative services.
According to the county on the 6th, the cadastral document digitization project is aimed at preventing loss, damage, and forgery due to long-term storage, protecting the property rights of residents, and providing quick and accurate civil services by digitizing cadastral-related documents into a computerized database.
The project plans to complete the scanning of 18,000 sheets of cadastral document survey result maps and land movement resolution documents such as land category changes and land division generated in 2023 by June.
Kim Su-young, head of the Civil Affairs and Cadastral Division, said, “We will complete the cadastral document digitization project early to support administrative services such as the storage of permanent documents and information disclosure.”
Meanwhile, the county has built a total of 1,599,787 sheets of documents including old land registers, closed cadastral (forest) maps, cadastral survey result maps, and land movement resolution documents in the integrated cadastral document management system (CadaDev) over 12 phases since 2003, which have been used for handling various land-related disputes and civil complaints. In 2023, 1,304 civil complaint documents such as old land registers and closed cadastral maps were issued.
