Gwangju Seo-gu Operates 'Hangeulteo Masil' for Marriage Immigrants and Others
Seo-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City (Mayor Kim Ikang) announced on the 5th that it will operate ‘Hangeulter Masil’ for marriage immigrants and children of immigrants who entered mid-way.

Seo-gu will conduct a total of three programs?Daily Life Korean (Beginner), TOPIK I/II (daytime, nighttime)?until the end of November to help multicultural families improve their language skills suitable for various situations and boost their confidence through systematic Korean language education, enabling them to settle stably in Korean society.
The schedule by location is as follows: ▲ Chipyeong-dong from March 5 to July 23 (Tuesdays and Thursdays) ▲ Geumho 1-dong ‘Pumda’ from March 6 to August 5 (Mondays and Wednesdays) ▲ Seo-gu Family Center from February 26 to November 21 (Monday to Thursday). Marriage immigrants and children of immigrants who wish to participate in the classes can inquire at the Seo-gu Family Center.
Previously, Seo-gu operated ‘Hangeulter Masil’ at the Seo-gu Family Center and Chipyeong-dong Administrative Welfare Center last year, receiving great response with about 3,000 multicultural family members participating over a total of 439 sessions.
Shim Hyojeong, Director of the Gender Equality Division, said, “We want to help with Korean language proficiency test qualifications and nationality acquisition through Korean language education that is most necessary for life in Korea,” adding, “We will continue to provide systematic and customized educational opportunities so that people can enjoy learning Hangeul with a joyful heart when visiting Masil.”
