Starbucks Selects Barista Go Eunha as Coffee Ambassador for This Year
23,000 Starbucks Baristas Representative... Active as Coffee Expert for One Year
Starbucks Korea announced on the 4th that it has selected Go Eunha, the store manager and barista of the Starbucks Haeundae branch, as the coffee expert representing the company for this year.
Starbucks holds coffee competitions annually by country to select one barista with the best coffee knowledge and passion, appointing them as the country’s top coffee expert, the ‘Starbucks Coffee Ambassador.’ In Korea, Coffee Ambassadors have been selected since 2005, and this year marks the birth of the 20th Coffee Ambassador.
For this Coffee Ambassador selection, 11 RCMs (Regional Coffee Masters), who are coffee experts with outstanding coffee knowledge from across the country among approximately 23,000 Starbucks partners, were chosen to participate in preliminary rounds including latte art, coffee storytelling, and coffee knowledge tests. The final Coffee Ambassador competition involved intense contests such as coffee sensory evaluation tests and professional lectures on coffee, ultimately selecting the final winner.
During a one-year term, Coffee Ambassador Go Eunha will act as the coffee expert representing Starbucks in the country, spreading and educating others with coffee expertise and experience. She will also have the opportunity to grow as a global coffee expert by interacting with Starbucks coffee experts worldwide. Additionally, a special trip to visit overseas Starbucks roasteries will be provided.
Go Eunha joined Starbucks in 2015 and has worked as the store manager at the Haeundae branch. Over the past two years, she has served as a coffee expert representing the Busan region, delivering coffee stories in various ways through customer coffee seminars and partner coffee training.
During her term, Coffee Ambassador Go Eunha will work at the Starbucks Special Store, Byeoldabang branch, and continue activities to promote Starbucks Korea’s coffee moments celebrating its 25th anniversary, including planning content for the ‘Reserve Premium Class,’ where customers can experience the highest quality Reserve coffee.
