The congratulatory money will be paid in Wando Love Gift Certificates, with 100,000 KRW given once to elementary school students and 200,000 KRW given once to middle and high school students. This year, about 920 students are expected to receive the congratulatory money.
The application method will be announced to the eligible students through schools when the new semester begins, and the parents or guardians (legal guardians, custodians, etc.) of the entering students can submit the application form for the congratulatory money to the school.
The county plans to finalize the recipients through procedures such as eligibility verification and pay the congratulatory money during the first half of the year. The congratulatory money can be collected at designated financial institutions.
A county official said, "While other cities and counties have only supported congratulatory money for elementary school entrants, our county has expanded support to middle and high school students since last year," adding, "We hope this will help with educational expenses even a little and contribute to revitalizing the local economy through the use of local currency."
