Worker Uniform Laundry Opens in Paju in June Following Ansan and Siheung
The 'Gyeonggi-do Blooming Laundry' (Worker Uniform Laundry), which washes factory workers' uniforms that are difficult to clean at regular laundries due to grease or chemicals for 1,000 won, will be established in Paju City following Ansan and Siheung cities.
Gyeonggi-do announced on the 4th that Paju City recently completed the enactment of the 'Paju City Worker Uniform Laundry Installation and Operation Ordinance' and, after site selection and facility construction, will open the Paju City Blooming Laundry in June.
The Paju City Blooming Laundry will be installed near the Paju industrial complex and plans to provide laundry services to workers at businesses with fewer than 50 employees and small-scale workplaces.
There are 632 companies and about 25,000 workers employed across 14 industrial complexes in Paju City.
The laundry service is available to workers at small and medium-sized enterprises. Spring and autumn uniforms and summer uniforms cost 1,000 won per set (500 won per piece), and winter uniforms cost 2,000 won per set (1,000 won per piece). To ensure convenience for workers, pickup and delivery services are also provided.
Jo Sang-gi, Director of the Labor Rights Division of Gyeonggi-do, stated, "There are many relatively underprivileged small-scale businesses in northern Gyeonggi, so more attention and support are needed. We will continue to do our best to protect the health rights of vulnerable workers in the northern region and prevent industrial accidents."
