The ‘Large and Small Business Safety and Health Win-Win Cooperation Project,’ organized by the Ministry of Employment and Labor and the Korea Occupational Safety and Health Agency, aims to eliminate the gap in safety and health levels between primary contractors and partner companies through voluntary win-win cooperation and to prevent industrial accidents.
In 2023, BPA conducted safety and health consulting and awareness improvement training on risk assessment techniques, classification of explosion hazard areas at workplaces, and improvement measures targeting major partner companies including Busan Port Facility Management Center, Busan New Port Facility Management Center, and Busan Port Security Corporation.
Additionally, BPA carried out a safety and health management campaign for outdoor workers during the heatwave season and contributed to preventing industrial accidents by supporting confined space oxygen and gas measurement systems and the Korean-style safety ladder (K-ladder).
In 2024, BPA plans to expand the scope of the win-win cooperation project by including two additional local small and medium-sized enterprises that fit the characteristics of the port city Busan, in addition to the existing three partner companies, to create a safer port site and fulfill the social responsibilities of public institutions.
The signing ceremony was attended by the Minister of Employment and Labor, the Director of the Occupational Safety and Health Headquarters, the Director of Industrial Accident Prevention Supervision Policy, the Chairman of the Korea Occupational Safety and Health Agency, and about 60 institutions selected as outstanding workplaces.
