‘Herewea’, Reorganized as an Integrated Information App for National Assembly Election System
- "Opening a New Horizon for Contactless Campaigning with 1:1 Voter-Candidate Chat"
- Check Detailed Information at Once, Including Candidate's SNS, MBTI, and Pets
The SNS service ‘HereWeAre’ revamped its app on April 10 to align with the system of the 22nd National Assembly elections. Leveraging a new concept of connection through the Bluetooth function on mobile phones, it aims to create a new link between candidates and voters.
All 1,500 or so preliminary candidates can personally customize their individual pages, and voters can experience direct communication with candidates anytime and anywhere through features such as viewing local candidates’ pledges and 1:1 chatting, according to the company.
In the HereWeAre app, users can view a list of preliminary candidates registered with the National Election Commission (NEC) by electoral district nationwide at a glance. Additionally, it includes all information such as candidates’ YouTube, Instagram, and other SNS channels, pet names, personality types (MBTI), favorite dishes, and nicknames. Heogeol, CEO of HereWeAre, said, “We have incorporated all information related to this election into one app,” adding, “Through the 1:1 personalized chat feature called CelebChat, voters can comfortably engage in direct conversations with candidates, asking questions about pledges or having casual talks, providing opportunities for voters and candidates to meet more closely and without barriers.”
He continued, “By registering their electoral district through the ‘My Electoral District’ feature, voters can receive push notifications about candidate information regardless of their location,” and “The goal is to help voters know who and ‘what kind’ of people are running in their district, moving beyond reliance on parties and colors to form personal convictions and intentions.” He also noted, “In a situation where physical attacks occur regardless of ruling or opposition parties, this non-contact election campaign offers a new way to approach voters.”
They also stated that, in addition to real-time updated preliminary candidate information, various features that voters and candidates can participate in and enjoy will continue to be added until the official election campaign begins at the end of March.
HereWeAre is an SNS (Social Network Service) platform that operates in a new and unique way by combining the real world with online social networking, unlike traditional online-focused social networks. It utilizes the ‘Bluetooth’ function used in various smart devices as a tool for social networking. When the app is installed and Bluetooth is turned on, it automatically recognizes people nearby and enables communication through chat. This feature allows easy and fast conversations without the cumbersome process of exchanging personal information, attracting attention as a new form never seen before.
The candidate information services and features provided by HereWeAre will be freely accessible and usable by anyone on the ‘HereWeAre Election Homepage’ or the ‘HereWeAre’ app until the general election on April 10.
