Gyeonggi-do to Distribute 'LPG Storage Tanks' to 27 Villages in 10 Cities and Counties This Year
Gyeonggi Province will distribute ‘LPG small storage tanks’ to 27 villages in 10 cities and counties, including Paju, Icheon, and Yeoju, where city gas supply is difficult this year. This project involves switching from an individual delivery method, where LPG is supplied in containers, to a village-level collective supply method.
Targeting rural areas without city gas supply, consisting of villages with 30 to 150 households, LPG small storage tanks and pipeline networks will be established, and auxiliary facilities such as LPG gas boilers and gas meters will be installed.
In particular, by simplifying the LPG distribution structure, fuel costs can be reduced, and stable fuel supply at the level of city gas can be ensured. Additionally, the removal and replacement of gas auxiliary facilities such as rubber hoses and aging pipelines will improve the residential environment.
Gyeonggi Province started this project in 2015 and has supported 7,700 households in 130 villages until last year. This year, a total of 21.9 billion KRW, including 8 billion KRW from the provincial budget, will be invested to support an additional 1,726 households.

Cha Seong-su, Director of the Climate Environment and Energy Bureau of Gyeonggi Province, stated, "The LPG small storage tank distribution project will greatly contribute to resolving energy use imbalances between regions due to the lack of city gas supply and improving welfare," adding, "We will work harder to reduce fuel costs and create a safe and convenient energy use environment."
