AI features drive popularity... Previous models also scheduled for updates
Samsung Electronics' 'Galaxy S24 series' has set a new domestic sales record by achieving 1 million units sold in the shortest period among all Galaxy S series to date.
On the 28th, Samsung Electronics announced that the Galaxy S24 series surpassed 1 million units sold domestically within 28 days since its launch on the 31st of last month. This is about three weeks faster compared to its predecessor, the Galaxy S23. Including all previous Galaxy smartphones, it is the second fastest record after the 'Galaxy Note10.' The Galaxy Note10, released in 2019, exceeded 1 million units sold within 25 days of its launch.
The record-breaking streak of the Galaxy S24 series stems from consumers' interest and positive response to 'Galaxy AI,' which opens a new era of mobile AI. Features such as 'real-time translation,' which breaks down language barriers and enables free communication, and 'Circle to Search,' offering a new way of searching, have received particularly favorable reactions. Customers in their teens and twenties preferred the 'generative editing' feature the most, which allows filling in parts of photos or deleting and moving objects based on generative AI.
By model, the 'Galaxy S24 Ultra,' equipped with a titanium frame and an S Pen, accounts for about 55% of sales, driving the success. Sales of the 'Galaxy S24+' also increased compared to its predecessor, revealing consumer preference for high-spec products within the Galaxy S series.
The Galaxy S24 series also set a record for the highest pre-order sales among all Galaxy S series, with 1.21 million units recorded during last month's pre-sale period.
