'Global Home Appliance Leader' LG Targets US B2B Market with Ultra-Premium Built-in Products
Participated in US 'KBIS 2024'
Showcased Premium Built-in Appliances
Unveiled High-Efficiency Energy Technology and AI-Based Smart Home Solutions
LG Electronics, the world's No. 1 home appliance sales company, is strengthening its North American business-to-business (B2B) market strategy by leading with premium built-in appliances.
From the 27th (local time) for three days, LG Electronics will participate in 'KBIS 2024,' the largest kitchen and bath exhibition in North America held in Las Vegas, USA, showcasing a variety of built-in lineups including the ultra-premium built-in appliance brand 'Signature Kitchen Suite.' Targeting the residential and commercial building construction markets, LG will introduce customer profile-based packages. Through this, the company plans to accelerate its penetration into the North American B2B built-in market.
KBIS, held until the 29th, is the largest exhibition in North America for the kitchen and bath sector. Over 500 major global home appliance companies participate to exhibit new products and solutions reflecting the latest trends. LG Electronics has prepared a 1,022 square meter (㎡) exhibition space to unveil differentiated premium built-in appliances, high-efficiency energy technologies, and empathy AI-based smart home solutions.
LG Electronics has set up customized exhibition zones considering furniture composition, price range, and space utilization, displaying packages suitable for each. Among the exhibits is a bathroom solution being introduced for the first time at this exhibition, along with the all-in-one washer-dryer 'WashCombo,' which is very popular locally in the U.S., and the premium water purifier humidifier 'HydroTower.' In the Signature Kitchen Suite exhibition zone, new lineups featuring matte stainless steel to complete a luxurious interior and ovens equipped with 'Gourmet AI' technology?where an internal camera recognizes ingredients and recommends various customized recipes?are displayed.
High-efficiency solutions responding to net zero are also showcased. In a separate exhibition zone themed 'Sustainable Home,' LG Electronics exhibits the 'WashCombo' equipped with an inverter heat pump. Released earlier this year in the U.S., this product is an all-in-one washer-dryer that completes washing and drying with a single operation. It is highly user-friendly and is regarded as a replacement for gas dryers, which have relatively high carbon emissions.
The dual inverter heat pump water heater exhibited alongside obtains more than 70% of the energy required for operation from outside air. Incorporating LG Electronics' core component technology 'CoreTech,' the actual electricity consumption is less than 30% of that of conventional heater-type water heaters. Most of the exhibited products have received the 'Energy Star' certification granted by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency for high-efficiency products.
Additionally, LG Electronics presents the future of AI-based smart homes. A large display installed at the exhibition features a smart home AI agent that acts as a household assistant. The smart home AI agent notifies a user doing home training in the video when the laundry is finished and, if the user cannot move immediately, suggests using the 'Post-finish Laundry Care' course to reduce wrinkles in neglected laundry. It also shows the ingredients inside the refrigerator via video to a user preparing for a party and recommends menus that can be made with those ingredients. When the user asks for recipes, the cooking instructions appear on the refrigerator screen for convenient cooking.
LG Electronics plans to develop the smart home AI agent to communicate more smoothly with users through strategic cooperation with Microsoft (MS).
