Chairman Lee Jung-geun's Woojung Education and Culture Foundation Awards Scholarships to 83 International Students from 29 Countries
Woojong Education and Culture Foundation, chaired by Lee Joong-geun, chairman of Booyoung Group, announced on the 26th that it has awarded scholarships totaling 330 million KRW to 83 international students currently enrolled in domestic universities.

View original imageOn the same day, Woojong Education and Culture Foundation held the '2024 First Semester International Student Scholarship Award Ceremony' at the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Jung-gu, Seoul, distributing a total of 330 million KRW to 83 international students from 29 countries.
Established in 2008 by Chairman Lee Joong-geun’s private donation, Woojong Education and Culture Foundation has been providing scholarships twice a year to overseas students since 2010. Since 2013, the foundation has significantly expanded the eligible countries and students, increasing the scholarship amount to 8 million KRW per student annually. To date, 2,449 international students have benefited from approximately 9.6 billion KRW in scholarships.
Saixana Panyabong, a scholarship recipient from Laos and a doctoral candidate in International Agricultural Technology at Seoul National University, said, "I sincerely thank Chairman Lee Joong-geun and Booyoung Group’s Woojong Education and Culture Foundation for their substantial economic and psychological support and encouragement."
