Various forms of cyber attacks, such as personal information hacking and ransomware distribution targeting domestic online services, are also ongoing, making it necessary to strengthen vigilance against cyber crisis situations.
The Ministry of Science and ICT, together with KISA, is monitoring cyber sites 24 hours a day through the Internet Security Response Center to prepare for hacking, ransomware, smishing, and other threats. In addition, to minimize damage by rapid recovery in case of cyber attack incidents, a permanent response system is maintained with related agencies, telecommunications companies, and Chief Information Security Officers (CISOs) of major companies.
Vice Minister Kang urged the staff on duty, saying, "Above all, cyber safety must be guaranteed for digital development," and added, "I hope you do your best at the forefront of the cyber safety field."
Meanwhile, in his inaugural speech, Vice Minister Kang emphasized key policy directions such as building a global AI growth ecosystem including generative artificial intelligence (AI) and AI semiconductors, accelerating digital innovation across the nation, promoting gap reduction suited to the era of AI becoming part of daily life, and improving the telecommunications market to meet public expectations.
