Honor 'Magic 6 Pro' Equipped with Eye Tracking Feature
'Xiaomi 14 Ultra' Applies Massive AI Model
Chinese smartphone manufacturers Honor and Xiaomi launched new products equipped with the latest artificial intelligence (AI) features worldwide on the 25th (local time).
On the same day, major telecommunications companies reported that Honor unveiled the 'Magic 6 Pro' smartphone a day before the opening of the world's largest mobile communication exhibition, 'Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2024.' This product features gaze-tracking AI technology that allows users to remotely move a car or open car doors just by looking at the phone screen. It is currently only released in China.
Honor also introduced the 'MagicBook Pro 16' laptop equipped with AI functionality for device-to-device transfer. This feature enables users to move apps from an Android phone to a Windows PC with a single drag. Additionally, Honor is reportedly working on integrating the large language model (LLM) 'LlaMA 2,' similar to ChatGPT, into its smartphones.
Xiaomi also released the 'Xiaomi 14 Ultra' smartphone on the same day, featuring enhanced AI and photography capabilities. This product, developed through an expanded partnership with German camera manufacturer Leica, is equipped with four camera lenses?one more than the existing Xiaomi 14. It also incorporates technology powered by large AI models that can transcribe meeting content in real-time or describe photos.
Xiaomi unveiled a new wearable series including the 'Xiaomi Smart Band 8 Pro,' 'Xiaomi Watch S3,' and 'Xiaomi Watch 2,' suitable for sports, health, and wellness activities.

According to market research firm International Data Corporation (IDC) on the 16th of last month, Xiaomi ranked third in the global smartphone market in 2023 with a 12.5% market share, following Apple (20.1%) and Samsung Electronics (19.4%). In the Chinese smartphone market, Honor ranked second with a 17.1% market share, just behind Apple (17.3%). Honor was originally owned by Chinese technology company Huawei but was sold to Shenzhen local government’s 'Zhixin New Information Technology' in November 2020.
