Ministry of SMEs and Startups Supports Startups and SMEs' Entry into MWC
Support for Joint Market Entry of SKT, KT, and 20 SMEs
The Ministry of SMEs and Startups announced on the 26th that it will support the participation of startups and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) at Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2024. MWC, organized by the GSMA, is the world's largest mobile and information communication industry exhibition, marking its 37th edition this year.
The Ministry of SMEs and Startups collaborated with domestic telecommunications giants SK Telecom and KT to establish booths for startups and SMEs within the MWC 2024 exhibition hall, aiming to support the overseas market entry of SMEs with innovative technologies and products.
SK Telecom prepared exhibition spaces for 15 startups through the ‘SK Telecom-Startup Joint Entry Pavilion.’ KT created a Partners Pavilion for five SMEs within the KT exhibition hall. SK Telecom and KT also support export marketing activities such as expanding overseas sales channels alongside the SMEs' participation in the exhibition.

The Ministry of SMEs and Startups is also supporting the participation of 10 Baby Unicorn companies with excellent global capabilities through the ‘Baby Unicorn Nurturing Project.’ Lee Dae-hee, Director of the SME Policy Office at the Ministry of SMEs and Startups, said, “Participation in MWC 2024 will be a great opportunity to promote domestic startups and SMEs with innovative technologies,” adding, “We will continue to actively support SMEs and startups in creating new business opportunities by entering overseas markets.”
