"90% Are Workplaces with Fewer Than 10 Employees"…Food Manufacturing Industry Win-Win Agreement Between Primary and Subcontractors
The 5th Win-Win Model Following Joseon, Seokhwa, Car, and Aerospace
The food manufacturing industry is joining hands to improve the dual structure of the labor market, such as the gap between primary contractors and subcontractors.
On the 26th, the Ministry of Employment and Labor announced that it held a 'Joint Declaration Ceremony for the Expansion of Win-Win Cooperation in the Food Manufacturing Industry' at the headquarters of Samjin Food located in Jincheon-gun, Chungcheongbuk-do, together with Daesang, Samjin Food, Chungcheongbuk-do, and Jincheon-gun.
The government has been promoting a win-win cooperation model since last year to improve the dual structure of the labor market, and this time, by introducing a win-win model in Chungbuk and the food manufacturing industry, a total of five win-win cooperation models have been established.
The food manufacturing industry has a significantly higher proportion of small-scale workplaces compared to other industries, with companies having fewer than 10 employees accounting for over 90%, and is facing difficulties such as labor shortages due to low working conditions.
Additionally, the food manufacturing industry is a major industry in Chungcheongbuk-do, which has the highest rate of irregular jobs nationwide, making it necessary for the region and the industry to work together to solve the challenges they face.
Accordingly, a win-win council involving primary contractors, partner companies, and Chungcheongbuk-do will be formed to discuss and discover win-win agreement tasks that reflect the demands of partner companies.
At the declaration ceremony, Minister of Employment and Labor Lee Jeong-sik stated, "Through new social dialogue encompassing regions and industries, a virtuous cycle ecosystem will be created that leads to the creation of quality local jobs, the inflow of manpower to local areas, and the revitalization of the regional economy," and added, "We will promote administrative and financial support measures to back the win-win model."
