President Yoon Suk-yeol attended the March 1st Movement commemorative service on the 25th, becoming the first sitting president to do so, and stated, "We will responsibly contribute to world peace and shared prosperity as a global pivotal nation, and strive for a new leap forward for the Republic of Korea."
President Yoon made these remarks during his greeting after the 105th anniversary commemorative service of the March 1st Movement held at Woncheon Baptist Church in Suwon, Gyeonggi Province that morning, according to Kim Soo-kyung, spokesperson for the Presidential Office, in a written briefing.
President Yoon said, "105 years ago, our ancestors united their faith and will for freedom to launch the March 1st Movement," and evaluated, "The Korean church was part of that great journey toward a future of freedom and prosperity."
President Yoon Suk-yeol is greeting citizens on the 22nd at Masan Fish Market in Masanhappo-gu, Changwon-si, Gyeongnam.

Furthermore, President Yoon said, "I am well aware that the Korean church and its congregation are praying and uniting their hearts for all those who are suffering," adding, "The government and I will approach the lives of the people with greater humility and carry out warm governance that holds the hand of each and every individual."
The service proceeded with the Central Christian Elementary School mission team's performance of the 'Independence Army Patriotic Song,' followed by praise, representative prayer, scripture reading, and a sermon by Reverend Kim Jang-hwan, senior pastor.
Before the sermon, the master of ceremonies introduced President Yoon's attendance, to which President Yoon stood up and greeted the attendees of the service.
As President Yoon exited the sanctuary, he shook hands individually with the children mission members who performed that day and encouraged them. He also warmly greeted and had brief conversations with the congregants attending the service.

The service was attended by Reverend Kim Jang-hwan, senior pastor of Woncheon Baptist Church, senior pastor Kim Yo-sep, about 800 congregants, and aides including Hwang Sang-mu, senior secretary for civil society at the Presidential Office.
