Even Pets 'Enroll'?… Dongmyeong University Holds Nation's First Pet University Entrance Ceremony
An unusual university entrance ceremony filled with 'woof woof' sounds is set to take place. This year, pets have also been invited to the entrance ceremony of Dongmyung University’s College of Companion Animals.
Dongmyung University (President Jeon Ho-hwan) announced that the 2024 academic year entrance ceremony for the College of Companion Animals (Dean Kim Su-jin), held on the 22nd at the Busan KBS Hall, will be conducted together with a dog entrance ceremony.
Here, the 'Daengdaengi' students are expected to appear wearing handkerchiefs on their bodies, resembling elementary school freshmen.
The stars of this entrance ceremony are the companion dogs who served as representatives of the 2023 academic year 'Cyber University Companion Dog Students.' Veteran trainer Park Soon-tae, who has a record of winning the IRO International Rescue Dog Association Championship and the National Rescue Dog Competition, as well as new freshmen of the College of Companion Animals this year, will also attend the event.
Trainer Park Soon-tae is scheduled to be appointed as an adjunct professor in the Department of Dog Grooming and Behavior Correction at Dongmyung University. Dongmyung University plans to start a free trial operation of Dongsup, a dog playground on campus and a local landmark in the city, from March 18, Monday through Saturday.
