In the Seoul metropolitan area and inland Gangwon, precipitation will stop in the morning, but from the afternoon, raindrops less than 0.1 mm or snow less than 0.1 cm will fall. The Chungcheong region will also gradually stop from the afternoon.
Over the two days from the 21st to the 22nd, Gangwon Province is forecasted to receive 20?40 cm of snow in the mountainous areas (more than 50 cm in some places), 10?30 cm along the central and northern East Coast, 5?20 cm along the southern East Coast, and 5?10 cm inland.
In the Gyeongsang region, 10?40 cm of snow will fall in the northeastern mountains of North Gyeongsang, 5?15 cm along the northern East Coast of North Gyeongsang and on Ulleungdo and Dokdo, 3?10 cm inland in northern North Gyeongsang, and 2?7 cm inland in western North Gyeongsang and western South Gyeongsang (3?10 cm near Jirisan).
During the same period, expected snowfall amounts are 3?8 cm in the Seoul metropolitan area and North Chungcheong, 1?5 cm in the southern West Coast of Gyeonggi, the five West Sea islands, Sejong, and northern South Chungcheong, and 1?3 cm in Daejeon and southern South Chungcheong.
On the 22nd alone, eastern North Jeolla will see 1?5 cm of snow, and inland central and southern North Gyeongsang and the southern East Coast of North Gyeongsang will receive 1?3 cm.
Expected precipitation over the two days from the 21st is 5?10 mm in the Seoul metropolitan area and inland Gangwon, 10?50 mm along the Gangwon East Coast and mountainous areas and Jeju Island, 5?20 mm in Chungcheong and Ulleungdo and Dokdo, 5?40 mm in Gwangju and South Jeolla, 5?30 mm in North Jeolla, Busan, Ulsan, South Gyeongsang, and inland Daegu and North Gyeongsang, and 10?40 mm along the East Coast of North Gyeongsang.
The morning low temperatures are forecasted to be between -2 and 6 degrees Celsius, and the daytime highs between 1 and 8 degrees Celsius.
Fine dust levels will be 'good' nationwide due to smooth atmospheric dispersion and the effects of precipitation.
With storm warnings issued for most seas, winds will blow very strongly at speeds of 10?18 m/s, and waves will rise very high, reaching over 5 meters.
For the time being, high waves caused by swell will exceed rocky shores or breakwaters along the Gangwon East Coast, the Gyeongsang coastal areas, and Jeju Island coasts.
Sea waves will be 1.0?4.0 m in the East Sea nearshore, 0.5?2.5 m in the West Sea nearshore, and 0.5?4.0 m in the South Sea nearshore.
