Cheongsong-gun Conducts Tuberculosis Screening for Seniors Aged 65 and Over Through Home Visits
From the 19th to the 21st, the Cheongsong-gun Health and Medical Center in Gyeongbuk will conduct a "Visiting Tuberculosis Screening for the Elderly" targeting seniors aged 65 and over at senior centers.
This screening is carried out with the cooperation of the Daegu-Gyeongbuk branch of the Korean Tuberculosis Association, where chest X-rays are taken using a mobile screening vehicle and real-time remote readings are performed. For those with suspicious findings, additional sputum tests are conducted to diagnose tuberculosis.
In particular, individuals aged 65 and over tend to have relatively weaker immune systems and may not show typical infection symptoms such as coughing or sputum, making preventive screening necessary.
This "Visiting Tuberculosis Screening for the Elderly" allows seniors who have difficulty moving or visiting hospitals to receive thorough screening and check their results immediately on-site, which has been met with great approval.
