Hamyang Cultural Center Selected for Cultural Heritage Administration's Traditional House Head Family Utilization Project
Operating Various Programs to Specialize as a Cultural Tourism City
Gyeongnam Hamyang Cultural Center has been selected for the 2024 Cultural Heritage Administration project, utilizing traditional houses that embody the dignity and tradition of old family homes.
The Traditional House Head Family Utilization Project is a cultural heritage enjoyment program that reinterprets the traditions preserved by the head families in a modern way, serving as an opportunity to easily and enjoyably experience traditional living culture. It aims to rediscover the value and meaning of old residences as resources for regional development through various programs that utilize the historical significance and value of local cultural heritage.

View original imageWith this selection, a total budget of 137.5 million KRW, including national and local funds, has been secured to operate various programs in collaboration with Hamyang County to specialize as a cultural tourism city.
Specifically, from February to December, three programs will be held at Ildu Old House and Gaepyeong Hanok Village: "Immersed in the Scent of Traditional Houses" (9 sessions), "Festive Day with Fragrant Scents" (3 sessions), and "Let's Play at the Old House" (2 sessions).
