In the comment section of a recent post, some netizens left personal attacks such as "Manage your younger brother well," "Did you raise him like this?" and "Teach your brother some manners," while others urged restraint with comments like "Don't touch the family," "Why come to the innocent sister's account and cause a fuss?" and "All malicious commenters should be sued."
Lee Jeong-eun, who gained public recognition through her appearance on SBS variety show 'Goal Dazzling Women,' explained her role by saying, "While Kang-in is in Spain as a football player, I support him with conversations with his agent and overall tasks necessary for playing football."
Once regarded as the next-generation ace, Lee Kang-in has faced a wave of negative public opinion, including tens of thousands of malicious comments, after it was revealed that he rebelled against the national team captain Son Heung-min (32, Tottenham) during the Qatar Asian Cup.
On the evening of December 6, the day before the Asian Cup semi-final against Jordan, Lee Kang-in, Seol Young-woo, and Jung Woo-young were playing noisy table tennis in a resting area next to the restaurant during dinner time. Captain Son Heung-min intervened to stop them, but Lee Kang-in resisted Son Heung-min, leading to a confrontation. During the clash, several players got entangled, and Son Heung-min’s finger was dislocated.
There were reports that Lee Kang-in threw a punch at Son Heung-min’s face during the incident, but Lee Kang-in’s side denied this. On the 15th, Lee Kang-in’s legal representative issued a statement saying, "The claim that Son Heung-min grabbed Lee Kang-in’s neck and that Lee Kang-in punched Son Heung-min in the face is not true."
However, they did not specify whether the act of throwing a punch itself did not occur or if the punch was not directed at the 'face.'
On the 14th, the day the internal conflict was reported, Lee Kang-in posted an apology on Instagram, saying, "I should have taken the lead and followed the seniors’ words well, but I am only sorry for showing an unfavorable image to football fans." He added, "I apologize to many people who were disappointed in me."
