Active-duty police officers were caught assaulting police officers who were dispatched during a dispute with a taxi driver while intoxicated, as well as fighting with civilians.
On the 16th, the Seongdong Police Station in Seoul announced that they have booked and are investigating Sergeant A, affiliated with the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency Riot Unit, on charges of obstructing official duties.
Sergeant A is accused of assaulting two police officers who tried to restrain him and put him into a patrol car after he got into an argument with a taxi driver at an intersection in Seongdong-gu around 7 p.m. the previous day.
