UK post-punk band Shame to visit Korea for the first time in April
April 28, Hyundai Card Understage, Yongsan-gu, Seoul
British post-punk band 'Shame' will hold their first concert in Korea.
On the 16th, concert organizer MPMZ announced that Shame will meet domestic fans for the first time on April 28 at 6 PM at Hyundai Card Understage in Yongsan-gu, Seoul.
Formed in 2014 in South London, UK, Shame consists of five members: Charlie Steen (vocals), Sean Coyle-Smith and Eddie Green (guitar), Josh Finerty (bass), and Charlie Forbes (drums). They quickly gained public attention with their music combining post-punk and new wave-based bass and pop melodies.
They drew attention with their first full-length album 'Songs of Praise' in 2018, which received a high score of 83 on Metacritic. Their follow-up album released three years later, 'Drunk Tank Pink,' was selected as the album of the year by British record label Rough Trade.
They also completed a tour covering Europe and North America, including the UK, to celebrate the release of their new album 'Food for Worms' released last year.
This is Shame's first concert in Korea. A representative from MPMZ explained, "Starting with Black Midi's first concert in Korea in 2022, Shame has joined the 'British Invasion' of several post-punk bands such as HMLTD, Black Country, New Road, and others."
Shame's performance, completed with intense stage presence, is expected to be a must-see event for listeners who love this genre.
