Yuhan-Kimberly Diapers and Sanitary Pads Cumulative Donations Surpass 26 Million Units
Yuhan-Kimberly announced on the 16th that the cumulative number of donated products from its major brands has surpassed 26 million units.
The main donated items include Huggies diapers, Good Feel sanitary pads, Depend adult diapers, and Kleenex masks, all of which are products most preferred by Korean consumers.
Based on its social responsibility philosophy represented by Korea’s longest-running public interest campaign, “Our Rivers and Mountains Green and Green,” Yuhan-Kimberly has continuously conducted various product donation campaigns to help socioeconomically vulnerable groups and contribute to improving quality of life. Notably, Huggies has donated a cumulative total of 11 million diapers, including free provision of ultra-small diapers for premature babies born before 37 weeks or weighing less than 2.5 kg.
The Good Feel sanitary pad donation campaign “Cheer Up, Daughters,” which has been ongoing since 2016, has surpassed a cumulative donation of 10 million pads. To support economically disadvantaged female adolescents who face difficulties purchasing sanitary pads, more than 1 million pads are donated annually, striving to secure universal menstrual rights and promote social awareness change.
Voluntary participation and support from key stakeholders have also been crucial for the sustainability of product donations. Since 2015, Yuhan-Kimberly has continued the Depend monthly 1% salary donation campaign to help marginalized seniors, with employees voluntarily participating in donations. Additionally, to expand consumer empathy and participation, the company operates a donation platform in collaboration with Naver Happy Bean.
Furthermore, to strengthen consumer health and personal hygiene against fine dust and pandemics, more than 2.6 million Kleenex masks have been shared. Since last year, the “Happy Clean Campaign” has been underway to help maintain the daily lives of hygiene-vulnerable children and families clean and safe. Along with donating necessary hygiene products, educational content on proper mask-wearing, handwashing, and toilet training is provided.
