Fishing Boat Capsizes Near Songji-myeon, Haenam-gun... 2 Dead, 1 Missing
Searching with nearby maritime patrol vessels and helicopters to find missing crew members on board
Wando Maritime Police Station (Chief Lee Young-ho) reported that at around 1 p.m. on the 15th, they received a report that the aquaculture management vessel A (6-ton class, registered in Wando, with 6 crew members) had capsized near the sea off Songji-myeon, Haenam-gun, Jeollanam-do. They dispatched patrol boats, rescue teams, and helicopters to the scene to conduct rescue operations and manage the accident.
Upon arrival at the accident site, the maritime police, along with nearby fishing vessels, engaged in rescue efforts using patrol boats and helicopters. So far, a total of 5 people have been rescued (3 survivors, 2 deceased), but 1 person remains missing. They are currently searching the surrounding waters for the remaining crew member.
