Jogyuil Jinju Mayor Conducts On-Site Inspection of Namgang Dam to Omokgyo Bicycle Road Section
Steep and Narrow 202m Section Doubled in Width
"Preventing Safety Accidents and Enhancing User Convenience"
On the 15th, Jo Gyu-il, Mayor of Jinju City, Gyeongnam, inspected the recently expanded and renovated bicycle road section connecting Panmun-dong and Samgye-ri in Naedong-myeon, from Namgang Dam to Omokgyo, together with residents of Panmun-dong and Naedong-myeon and members of the Jinju Bicycle Association.

View original imageOriginally, this section was perceived as an inconvenient and dangerous bicycle road for citizens due to its steep slopes and narrow width. To resolve this, Jinju City undertook an expansion and renovation project to widen the existing 202m section from 2m to 4m.
With a total project cost of 550 million KRW, construction began in August 2023 and the expansion and renovation project was carried out over approximately six months, recently completed to provide a safer and more comfortable bicycle road environment for users.

Mayor Jo, who participated in the inspection, stated, “Our city has become a prestigious bicycle city through continuous construction and management of bicycle road infrastructure,” and added, “We will continue to strive to prevent safety accidents and improve convenience for bicycle users and pedestrians.”
