Securities Plus Unlisted, Fraud Prevention Campaign Until June
Announcement of 4 Safety Rules 'S.A.F.E'
The unlisted stock trading platform 'Securities Plus Unlisted' announced on the 15th that it will conduct the 'S.A.F.E' campaign to eradicate fraud crimes until June.
This campaign was planned to protect investors and contribute to creating a safe investment environment amid rampant market disruption activities. The campaign name 'S.A.F.E' represents four safety rules that investors must keep in mind when trading unlisted stocks.
'S' stands for Sales. It means investors should be cautious of sales spam calls and messages urging investment. In cases of unlisted stock fraud, spam calls and messages are sent to unspecified many people, and investors are misled by investment solicitations based on false or exaggerated advertisements. For example, calls or messages containing provocative phrases such as 'early supply of major shareholder's shares,' 'low price,' 'special supply before IPO,' 'winning,' and 'guaranteed profit' require special caution.
'A' stands for Account. It advises using a safe trading platform linked to a securities firm account. When trading unlisted stocks, it is recommended to use a safe trading platform linked to a securities firm 'account.' Since it is possible to verify the buyer's balance and the seller's stock holdings from an authenticated securities firm account, damage caused by false listings or abnormal transactions can be prevented. The reference price within the platform reflects the actual trading status of the stock, helping to judge appropriate selling and buying prices based on market evaluation.
'F' stands for Fact. Fact-checking is essential. Due to the nature of the unlisted market with insufficient information, it is necessary to verify facts to avoid being swept away by uncertain rumors and unverified gossip. Especially, if someone impersonates employees of securities firms, trading platforms, or investment specialized companies to approach you, or induces clicks on phishing sites imitating official websites or applications, it is highly likely to be a fraud crime.
'E' stands for Expose. It means reporting and tip-offs to prevent damage. If you suspect unlisted stock fraud or have suffered damage, you must report it to the police (112) or the Financial Supervisory Service (1332). If there is concern about additional damage due to personal information leakage, you can get help by using the Financial Supervisory Service's 'Personal Information Exposure Accident Prevention System.'
