What is the solution for a 'business-friendly city'? Ulsan City unveils the 'regulatory innovation' card
Collaboration Among Central Ministries, Identification of Regulatory Improvement Tasks
"Citizen and Business-Centered, On-Site Innovation"
Ulsan City has taken out the "Regulatory Innovation" card to create a "Business-Friendly City Ulsan."
Ulsan City plans to discover regulatory innovation tasks in line with the regulatory innovation strategies of central government ministries such as the Ministry of the Interior and Safety and the Office for Government Policy Coordination, aiming to resolve inconveniences in citizens' daily lives and revitalize the local economy.
Last year, Ulsan City identified 124 regulatory improvement tasks and proposed them to central government ministries. Together with the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, it conducted a contest for "Regulatory Innovation in Business (Livelihood) Management Environment," discovering a total of 26 improvement tasks.
Following last year, this year as well, the city plans to focus its efforts on promoting regulatory innovation through active administration, including improving unreasonable business regulations and revising laws, to create a "Business-Friendly City Ulsan."
With the goal of promoting field-oriented regulatory innovation that citizens and businesses can strongly feel, the city will strengthen the foundation for resolving regulations through active administration by discovering and improving cluster regulations, shadow regulations, and behavioral regulations to alleviate citizen inconveniences, create jobs, and revitalize the local economy.
In addition, through collaborative meetings with the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, the city plans to establish a regulatory innovation system for "continuous cooperation and joint response" between the Ministry and local governments.
Furthermore, Ulsan City will strengthen demand-centered regulatory innovation by activating the operation of the "Ulsan-type Regulatory Innovation Task Force (TF)," continuously operating the "Visiting Regulatory Innovation Promotion Team," and holding regulatory reform idea contests.
