Kookmin University Holds 2023 Academic Year Spring Graduation Ceremony
The 2023 Fall Degree Conferral Ceremony of Kookmin University was held on the morning of the 14th at the Kookmin University Concert Hall.
At this ceremony, attended by university officials and parents, a total of 2,444 bachelor's degrees, 741 master's degrees, and 89 doctoral degrees were awarded.
On this day, Kookmin University President Jeong Seung-ryeol delivered a congratulatory speech, saying, "Our university's DNA is to turn the trials encountered in life not into obstacles but stepping stones," and encouraged the graduates by saying, "Remember that success is defined not by wealth and fame but by the impact you have on others and your contribution to society. Now, go out into the world boldly."
Alumna Lee Hyori, class of '98 from the Department of Theater and Film in the School of Performing Arts, participated as a speaker to encourage the juniors. Lee Hyori said, "The one who cares for you more than anyone else and guides you rightly is none other than yourself, and the voice you must listen to more attentively than anyone else's is the voice of your own heart," adding, "Hold hands with the self that acknowledges and loves you, and move forward as you are."
She also said, "When you live without relying on or seeking comfort from anyone, you will meet precious connections, receive comfort briefly, and then move forward without regrets," and generously encouraged the juniors by saying, "By clashing and getting hurt a lot and learning through experience, you will be able to create your own true story."
