POSCO Future M Recognized as 'Industry Mover' in S&P Global Sustainability Assessment
33% Improvement in ESG Management Score Compared to Previous Year
First Inclusion in Sustainable Management Annual Report Membership
POSCO Future M announced on the 14th that it was selected as an 'Industry Mover' in the 2023 Corporate Sustainability Assessment (CSA) conducted by S&P Global, one of the world's top three credit rating agencies.
S&P Global conducts an annual corporate sustainability assessment and awards the Industry Mover rating to companies within each industry whose ESG scores have improved by more than 5% compared to the previous year among the top companies in the sector.
POSCO Future M received a score of 69 in this assessment, marking a 33% improvement from the previous year. In the 2023 evaluation, over 9,400 companies from 62 industries worldwide participated, and only 41 companies received the Industry Mover rating.

Additionally, POSCO Future M was listed for the first time as a member of the Sustainability Management Annual Report. S&P Global registers companies as members if they are in the top 15% within their industry and within the top 30% of the highest scores in that industry group.
POSCO Future M received high evaluations through objective and practical ESG management activities that various stakeholders can relate to, such as reducing carbon emissions, supply chain management, and compliance efforts.
With the goal of achieving carbon neutrality by 2050, POSCO Future M is leading efforts to reduce carbon emissions by expanding greenhouse gas management indicators from current direct and indirect emissions (Scope 1 and 2) to include other indirect emissions (Scope 3) covering overall corporate activities such as partner companies and logistics systems.

The primary raw materials for its main products, cathode and anode materials, are responsibly sourced minerals certified to be free from human rights violations, and the company is also strengthening supply chain management. In September of last year, POSCO Future M became the first in the domestic battery materials industry to acquire ‘ISO 37301,’ an international standard compliance management system, recognizing that it has established a compliance management system suitable for the global business environment.
