"Experience Various Coffee Aromas"... Starbucks Reserve Class Pre-Booking Starts from the 13th
Experience Various Flavors and Aromas of Coffee with Hands-on Practice
Up to 6 Participants per Class Session
Held on Thursdays at 9 Reserve Stores
Starbucks Korea announced on the 13th that it will introduce the ‘Reserve Premium Class,’ an experience to enjoy Starbucks Reserve coffee.
The Reserve Premium Class is a high-end coffee class centered on the highest quality Starbucks Reserve beans, which have diverse flavors depending on characteristics such as soil, climate, and cultivation conditions from coffee farms around the world.
Through sensory training, a method of evaluating sensory flavors, participants learn about coffee’s flavor while experiencing various aromas and tastes, and the content is practice-oriented, allowing tasting of various Reserve coffees.
First, participants taste five solutions (sweet, salty, sour, bitter, umami) to draw a tongue map and learn about the principles of taste perception. Then, using an aroma kit that allows experiencing various coffee aromas, they check the categories of each scent and spend time learning about the diverse aromas found in coffee.
Additionally, participants compare and taste the new Reserve coffees Laos Petramka Estate, which offers floral and herbal flavors, and El Salvador San Ramon, known for its refreshing lemon aroma, deep sweetness, and rich umami, experiencing the diverse aromas and tastes coffee can offer.
The instructors of the Starbucks Reserve Premium Class consist of Starbucks Coffee Ambassadors and Regional Coffee Masters (RCM), who are coffee experts from across the country. Starbucks Coffee Ambassadors are the top coffee experts with the most outstanding coffee knowledge at Starbucks, and RCMs represent approximately 23,000 Starbucks partners nationwide, with 11 currently active across the country.
The class will be held at nine Reserve stores. Pre-registration is available from the 13th via the Starbucks app between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m. on a first-come, first-served basis, and the participation fee per session is 50,000 KRW.
Customers participating in the Reserve Premium Class will be provided with Starbucks Reserve coffee as well as Starbucks food, along with a Starbucks Reserve mini apron, coffee passport, and Starbucks patches.
In the future, Starbucks plans to operate the Reserve Premium Class according to seasonal themes and expand it to Starbucks Reserve stores nationwide.
Starbucks has previously operated the Byuldabang Class, delivering beverage-making know-how and coffee-related knowledge from Starbucks coffee experts to customers. Last year, over 4,000 customers participated across more than 330 selected stores nationwide, gaining great popularity.
