Guro-gu Actively Promotes Sharing of Resident Priority Parking Lots
Targeting approximately 20% Improvement Compared to Previous in Shared Area Count and Shared Usage Performance
Guro-gu (District Mayor Moon Heon-il) is actively promoting the "Resident Priority Parking Lot Sharing Activation" to address the serious urban parking problem in a more economical and efficient way.
The number of shared spaces in resident priority parking lots is set to increase from 485 spaces as of the end of December 2023 to about 582 spaces, and the usage of shared parking is targeted to grow from around 27,000 cases to about 32,000 cases this year, an increase of approximately 20%.
This aligns with Seoul City's policy to expand resident priority parking lot sharing, which excludes autonomous districts that have not introduced mandatory sharing systems from receiving subsidies for public parking lot construction costs starting this year.
First, the district encourages residents and owners of small leftover lands to share a certain number of parking spaces when establishing new parking sections.
Going forward, sharing will be made mandatory as a condition for resident priority parking allocation, and prior consent regarding "mandatory participation in sharing projects" will be obtained during new allocations. For those already allocated, sharing obligations will be specified as a condition for reallocation, and consent will be sought.
Additionally, the district plans to identify and expand the number of shared parking spaces by discovering additional shareable sections among existing resident and visitor parking spaces.
To ensure convenience for both sharers and users of resident priority parking spaces, enforcement against illegal parking within shared parking sections will be strengthened.
