White House Correspondent Moon Gi-seong, Who Took 'President Trump Photo,' Passes Away
On the 9th at 00:56, Korean-American photojournalist Ki-sung Moon (William Moon), who gained attention on social media (SNS) in 2020 with a photo of then U.S. President Donald Trump, passed away in South Korea due to a stroke, according to his family. He was 62 years old.

Born in Seogwipo, Jeju, the late Moon studied abroad at George Mason University in the United States in 1989, eventually settling in the U.S. He covered the White House as a freelance photographer starting from President Barack Obama's administration. He also wrote a column titled "Yadanbeopseok" for the Korea Central Daily. In 2020, a photo he took of President Trump circulated widely on SNS shortly after the U.S. Senate dismissed Trump's impeachment trial, drawing significant attention. He received a special award at the 2021 Korea Internet Journalists Awards. His surviving family includes his younger sister Hee-ok Moon, brother-in-law Il-lim Kim, and nephew Do-jun Moon.
