Busan City will operate a variety of reading culture programs for children and parents at 'Busan City Hall Deullak Deullak' from February 19 to 29 to celebrate the spring break.
This program, held at the imaginative playground 'Busan City Hall Deullak Deullak,' is themed 'Writing, Reading, and Drawing My Own Imagination,' and is designed for not only children but also adults to enjoy and communicate together.
It will also provide opportunities for children to express their book experiences through various activities, creating a beneficial time to stimulate children's imagination.
The programs include ▲Elementary School Fairy Tale Writing Class ▲Live Painting with Percussion Performance ▲Reading Light Picture Books and Singing Poetry Songs.
The 'Elementary School Fairy Tale Writing Class' features mid-career author An Miran, famous for 'People Who Protect Seeds.' An is a veteran fairy tale writer and writing instructor who has long conducted fairy tale writing classes in the Busan area. Children participating in this event will have a great opportunity to learn writing secrets from the author.
'Live Painting with Percussion Performance' is a program where participants can share the vivid creative process of picture book author Lee Kihoon, who has been internationally recognized by winning the Bologna International Children's Book Fair Illustrator Award. Combined with improvised music performances, children, parents, and other audience members can participate together and enjoy additional fun.
Lastly, the 'Light Picture Book Reading Class' is a program that includes picture book appreciation without text, storytelling, and background music integrated with it, along with singing poetry songs. This sensory picture reading, free from the distraction of letters, will stimulate children's free imagination.
Nam Jeong-eun, Director of the Youth Industry Division of the City, said, “Through the Busan City Hall Deullak Deullak spring break reading culture program, we hope children will expand the wings of their imagination and adults will have a precious time exploring their childlike innocence.” He added, “Our city will continue to put more effort into developing children's cultural content centered around books.”
