Seodaemun-gu to Operate Spring Wildfire Prevention Headquarters Starting This Month
Seodaemun-gu, Seoul (Mayor Lee Seongheon) will operate a wildfire prevention headquarters from this month until May 15, the spring wildfire caution period. This is to maintain a cooperative system with related organizations and establish an initial firefighting and rear fire monitoring system in case of wildfire occurrence.
In addition, wildfire prevention campaigns and wildfire firefighting training will be promoted, and patrols on major hiking trails will be strengthened. The district recently installed high-pressure hose storage boxes at 8 hiking trail locations on 5 mountains within the district, including Ansan, Inwangsan, Bukhansan, Baekryeonsan, and Gungdongsan, and black boxes for catching arsonists at 5 locations. Also, by next month, wildfire extinguishing facilities such as water tanks will be established for extinguishing remaining fires within Inwangsan (Mugunghwa Park ~ Inho Spring).
