From the 15th (local time) for four days, he will participate in the PGA Tour Genesis Invitational (total prize money $20 million) held at Riviera Country Club (par 71, 7,322 yards) in Pacific Palisades, California, USA. On the 7th, Woods posted on his social media, "I'm excited to compete in next week's host tournament."
This marks Woods' return to a regular PGA Tour event after 10 months since withdrawing from the Masters in April last year. After the Masters, he underwent ankle surgery and ended his season. Following treatment and rehabilitation, he has finally completed preparations to return to the field. Woods participated in two events last December, the Hero World Challenge and the PNC Championship, but neither was a regular PGA Tour event.
Woods had been weighing between the Genesis Invitational and the Masters in April as his comeback stage for the regular tour. Choosing the Genesis Invitational means that his rehabilitation and performance recovery progressed faster than expected. Woods is the host of the Genesis Invitational.

Woods has not achieved good results at the fiercely competitive Riviera Country Club. He has participated 14 times in this tournament held at Riviera Country Club since its predecessor, the Los Angeles Open, but has never won. This is the only tournament where Woods has competed so many times without winning. Additionally, in 2021, he almost lost his life in a car accident after participating in this tournament.
