In Pakistan, more than 26 people were killed and around 40 injured as bomb attacks occurred near candidates' offices a day before the general election.

View original imageOn the 7th (local time), Pakistani police reported that a suicide bombing took place near the office of an independent candidate in the Pishin district, about 50 km from Quetta, the capital of southwestern Balochistan province, killing at least 14 and injuring 30. Some of the injured are in critical condition, so the death toll may rise.
A few hours later, a bomb exploded in front of a political party candidate's office in Killa Saifullah, Balochistan province, killing 12 and injuring more than 10.

No group has yet claimed responsibility for these two attacks. Balochistan is a region frequently affected by anti-government armed groups such as the Pakistan Taliban (TTP), an illegal organization. Across Pakistan, multiple terrorist attacks have occurred as the general election approaches. So far, at least two candidates are reported to have been shot dead.
