The integrity levels of 28 affiliated organizations under Gyeonggi Province have declined. The Korea Ceramic Foundation and the Gyeonggi Environment and Energy Promotion Agency received the lowest rating of Grade 5.

Gyeonggi Province announced on the 7th that the comprehensive integrity score from the ‘2023 Gyeonggi Province Public Office Affiliated Organizations Comprehensive Integrity Evaluation’ conducted on 28 public-related organizations under the province was 8.55 points (out of 10), down 0.22 points from 8.77 points in 2022.

Since 2015, Gyeonggi Province has been conducting integrity evaluations for affiliated public-related organizations nationwide for the first time, aiming to objectively and fairly assess the level of integrity of each institution and identify and improve corruption-prone areas.

Last year, Gyeonggi Province conducted comprehensive integrity evaluations for institutions with 60 or more employees (Group I) and those with fewer than 60 employees (Group II), while institutions with fewer than 10 employees or established within the past year (Group IV) underwent anti-corruption capacity diagnostics.

The evaluation results showed that the external perception score dropped by 0.47 points from the previous year to 8.97 points, whereas the internal perception score rose by 0.31 points to 7.81 points.

The integrity effort score decreased by 0.59 points to 8.59 points. While the internal perception improved due to continuous anti-corruption efforts such as anti-corruption and integrity education for internal staff and organizational culture improvements, the external perception score, which reflects evaluations from civil complaint targets, and the integrity effort score, which measures corruption prevention policies, declined.

The average comprehensive integrity score of the 28 organizations, reflecting deductions for corruption incidents in the three evaluation areas, was 8.55 points.

Looking at the results by institution, the Gyeonggi Women and Family Foundation received Grade 1 after two consecutive years of Grade 2. Grade 2 was awarded to Gyeonggi Tourism Organization, Gyeonggi Economic Science Promotion Agency, Gyeonggi Technopark, Gyeonggi Research Institute, Next Generation Convergence Technology Institute, Gyeonggi Daejin Technopark, and Gyeonggi Suwon World Cup Stadium Management Foundation. The Korea Ceramic Foundation and the Gyeonggi Environment and Energy Promotion Agency were ranked Grade 5.

Gyeonggi Province plans to reflect the results of this comprehensive integrity evaluation in the social responsibility (integrity) category of this year’s public institution management evaluation.

Choi Eun-soon, Auditor of Gyeonggi Province, stated, "The comprehensive integrity evaluation of public-related organizations aims to accurately diagnose the level of integrity and corruption-prone areas of each institution and effectively implement anti-corruption policies." She added, "Based on the evaluation results, we will provide incentives, conduct customized consulting and integrity mentoring for underperforming institutions, and expand public-private cooperation to meet the growing expectations of residents for public officials’ integrity."
