Seodeok Rok KIST Principal Researcher, Recipient of the 26th Songgok Science and Technology Award
The Korea Institute of Science and Technology (KIST, President Yoon Seok-jin) announced on the 6th that Dr. Seo Deok-rok, Principal Researcher at the KIST Institute for Technology Policy, has been selected as the recipient of the 26th Songgok Science and Technology Award in the 'Science and Technology Policy' category.
The Songgok Science and Technology Award was established in 1999 to honor the achievements of Dr. Choi Hyung-seop (Songgok, 松谷), the first director of KIST and former Minister of Science and Technology. The award recognizes scientists and technologists who have developed world-class new materials or proposed academic research and management strategies related to national science and technology policies, significantly contributing to the advancement of national science, technology, and industrial economy.
Dr. Seo Deok-rok, an expert in R&D planning and policy, was ultimately selected as the recipient of the 26th Songgok Science and Technology Award in recognition of his contributions over the past 14 years to establishing field-oriented R&D policies that helped KIST become a leading research institution and his achievements in advancing national science and technology policies and the development of government-funded research institutes.
