Assemblyman Kang Ming-guk Appointed as Chair of the People Power Party's Nomination Management Committee for the Gyeongnam By-Election
Strict Candidate Screening Transparent and Fair Elections
Member of the People Power Party Kang Ming-guk has been appointed as the chairman of the People Power Party Gyeongnam Provincial Party’s Nomination Management Committee for the Gyeongnam by-elections to be held on April 10.
Since October 2020, Representative Kang has been serving as the senior vice chairman of the People Power Party Gyeongsangnam-do Provincial Party. On April 5, 2023, he was appointed chairman of the Nomination Management Committee for the Gyeongnam by-elections, where he was recognized for leading a transparent and fair election through strict candidate screening.
The 2024 first half by-election Provincial Party Nomination Management Committee consists of a total of six members including Chairman Kang Ming-guk. The committee members include Yoon Bong-hyun, former chairman of Masan City Council; Lee Hae-ryun, current Changwon City Council member; Kim Woo-jin, current Changwon City Council member; Noh Chi-hwan, current Gyeongnam Provincial Council member; and Ahn Seong-il, former legal advisor to the Gyeongsangnam-do Provincial Council and current lawyer.
The constituencies for nomination are one metropolitan council district (Changwon City District 15) and one basic council district (Gimhae City A district). The application period for candidate recommendations is two days, from the 14th to the 15th. The People Power Party Gyeongnam Provincial Party will announce the schedule for document screening and interviews later.

Chairman Kang Ming-guk, appointed as the chairman of the Nomination Management Committee, said, “Since this by-election will be held on the same day as the general election, we expect great interest from the residents of Gyeongnam,” adding, “We will conduct the screening more strictly and transparently to ensure candidates meet the expectations of the residents.”
