From the 9th to the 12th, during the four-day Lunar New Year holiday, Pohang City will keep most tourist attractions open to ensure convenience for returning visitors and tourists, and has prepared a variety of events.
During the holiday period, major tourist sites such as ▲Space Walk ▲Igari Anchor Observatory ▲Pohang Canal, as well as tourist information centers and cultural tourism guide services, will operate normally throughout the holiday, including Lunar New Year’s Day.
Additionally, ▲National Lighthouse Museum ▲Municipal Art Museum ▲Guryongpo Gwamegi Culture Center ▲Yeonorang Seonyeo Theme Park will operate normally during the holiday period except on the 10th, Lunar New Year’s Day.
Various events that families can participate in will also be held at various tourist sites.
On the 11th, at the Cheolgilsup Oak Plaza, a ‘K-Traditional Games Experience Event with Resident Foreigners’ will take place, featuring a traditional games experience zone where visitors can enjoy ▲Yutnori ▲Tuho throwing ▲Ttakji flipping ▲Jegichagi, along with side events such as ▲Trying on Hanbok ▲Receiving tourist site recommendations based on MBTI.
Also, from the 11th to the 15th, a five-day SNS event will be held for participants who certify their participation and leave reviews, with a lottery to award coffee coupons to a total of 20 winners.
At the Guibigo within Yeonorang Seonyeo Theme Park, the Lunar New Year program ‘Fly, Dream of the Blue Dragon’ will be held. Programs such as ▲Kite making experience ▲Traditional games experience ▲Writing wish notes will operate throughout the holiday except on Lunar New Year’s Day, and on the 11th, an event releasing about 150 traditional string kites will take place.
At the Traveler Platform Pier Lounge located in the Guryongpo Japanese House Street, an SNS event will be held where visitors can take photos with the representative characters Mori and Geguri from the planned project and upload them. This event runs from the 6th to the 12th, excluding Lunar New Year’s Day, and participants will receive Pier Lounge merchandise.
At the Guryongpo Living Culture Center, the exhibition ‘Ara, NEXT’ featuring diverse works by five resident artists of Ara Art Village will be held, along with programs such as traditional games and board games that families can enjoy together. At the Cultural Arts Creation District Kkumteullo, visitors can experience various programs including pottery, candle making, flower arranging, folk painting, and crafts.
Central Art Hall will operate on two days during the Lunar New Year holiday, the 9th and 11th. Visitors can watch films such as ▲Love at the End of the Century ▲Rise ▲Love Rides the Falling Leaves ▲Sun of Ramses ▲My Old Oak ▲Ryuichi Sakamoto: Opus. Online reservations are available through D-TRIX, and the admission fee is 3,500 KRW for all seats.
