View original imageOn the 1st, the Shilla University LINC 3.0 Project Group and the College of Aviation co-hosted the ‘Industry-Academia-Research Collaboration Seminar for the Development of the Southeast Region Aviation Industry’ at Lotte Hotel Busan, attended by about 60 participants including professors majoring in aviation from universities in the Southeast region, aviation industry professionals, and aviation researchers.
This seminar was organized with the purpose of revitalizing and developing the Southeast region aviation industry through ▲ Keynote Presentation 1: ‘Gadeok New Airport and the Future of the Aviation Industry’ ▲ Keynote Presentation 2: ‘Strategies for Fostering Hub Airlines and Building a Global Network’ ▲ Panel Discussion: ‘Industry-Academia-Research Collaboration Strategies for Aviation Workforce Development’ ▲ Participant Networking.
Dr. Woo Seok-bong, Research Fellow at Busan Institute, and Kim Jae-won, Dean of the College of Aviation at Shilla University, participated as presenters for each topic. The panel discussion was chaired by Kim Kwang-il, Head of the Department of Aviation Operations at Shilla University, with panelists including Hyun Eun-hee, Airport Operations Team Leader at Busan City, Professor Park Sung-sik of the Department of Aviation Operations at Korea National University of Transportation, and Shim Jae-woon, Head of Economic Policy at the Busan Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
Kim Jae-won, Dean of the College of Aviation at Shilla University, said, “This seminar was held at a time when important issues related to the aviation industry, such as the opening of Gadeokdo New Airport and mergers and acquisitions among airlines, are being discussed. This seminar was a meaningful event where current issues related to the Southeast region aviation industry were shared and industry-academia-research collaboration gathered to discuss aviation workforce development.”
