Han Mentions Lee Jae-myung Assault... "Conspiracy Theory Political Business"
People Power Party lawmaker Bae Hyun-jin resumed public activities eight days after being attacked.
On the 2nd, Lawmaker Bae attended the '2024 Lunar New Year Hope Concert with People Power Party Songpa-eul Party Members and Their Families' held at the Songpa Book Museum in Songpa-gu, Seoul. This event was an opportunity to communicate with party members of Songpa-eul, Bae's constituency, ahead of the Lunar New Year holiday, hosted by the Songpa-eul Party Members' Council.
At the event, Lawmaker Bae said, "I hope that what I experienced does not become trauma through fear or terror," adding, "I will work hard to change politics so that it is not driven by fear and terror but chosen through hope and joy."

She continued, "I want to show that we can live more safely and firmly by protecting each other," emphasizing, "I will strive to erase the scenes of violent political arenas relying on political hatred and distorted fandoms in the future."
On the same day, Han Dong-hoon, the emergency committee chairman of the People Power Party, made a surprise visit to the event to support Lawmaker Bae's return. Chairman Han said, "(Lawmaker Bae) courageously overcame everything after the terrorist attack and is officially recovering back to daily life," adding, "I had to cancel all other engagements to come to this place."
At the event, Chairman Han also compared the responses to political terrorism between Lee Jae-myung, leader of the Democratic Party of Korea, and Lawmaker Bae. He defined political terrorism as "a crime against the entire society because it brings fear, anxiety, and discord to the whole society, tearing it apart," and argued, "How we respond to that crime shows the dignity and capability of that society."

He went on to say, "In a civilized society, there are two attitudes in politics toward such terrorism," adding, "There is Lee Jae-myung's way and Bae Hyun-jin's way." He posed the question, "Which way is dignified and fits the level of our country and fellow citizens?" and criticized 'Lee Jae-myung's way' as "constantly finding targets to blame during the handling process, receiving special treatment, and continuing conspiracy theories for political gain."
He also said, "Although it is much easier politically to point fingers, Lawmaker Bae chose not to take that path to prevent the public from feeling anxious and to avoid unnecessary conspiracy theories spreading and polluting politics."
