KOSPI Reclaims 2540 Level on Dual Buying by Foreigners and Institutions

The KOSPI reclaimed the 2540 level on the combined buying spree by foreigners and institutions. Samsung Electronics closed with a gain of over 1%, while the automobile sector's stock prices also stood out.
On the 1st, the KOSPI closed at 2542.46, up 1.82% (45.37 points) from the previous day. The KOSPI started the day at 2491.93, down 0.21% (5.16 points) from the previous trading day, but soon rebounded.
Foreigners and institutions led the index by net buying 1.0452 trillion KRW and 226.2 billion KRW, respectively. Individual investors alone net sold 1.2084 trillion KRW. In the futures market, individuals and foreigners bought 54 billion KRW and 131.3 billion KRW, respectively. Meanwhile, institutions alone sold 167.6 billion KRW.
The top 10 stocks by market capitalization ended mixed. The automobile sector was notable. Hyundai Motor rose 6.89% to close at 208,000 KRW. Kia also closed up 3.30%. Samsung Electronics, the largest by market cap, finished up 1.24% at 73,600 KRW.
The KOSDAQ closed at 798.73, down 0.06% (0.51 points) from the previous day. It started the day at 796.26, down 0.37% (2.98 points), but narrowed the losses. Institutions net sold 167.6 billion KRW, weighing down the index. Individuals and foreigners net bought 53.9 billion KRW and 131.3 billion KRW, respectively.

The top 10 stocks by market capitalization ended mixed. Ecopro BM and Ecopro attracted attention with gains of 6.79% and 6.37%, respectively. Enchem and Rainbow Robotics also rose 10.58% and 6.11%, respectively. Meanwhile, HLB fell 4.28% and Alteogen dropped 7.63%.
