A dedicated facility for assembling and inspecting guided missiles, handling the interception system in preparation for threats from North Korean long-range artillery, has been completed.
LIG Nex1 announced on the 31st that it held a completion ceremony for the 'Dedicated Assembly/Inspection Facility' of the long-range artillery interception system, which is being developed to protect national military critical facilities.
With this establishment, LIG Nex1 plans to contribute to the successful development of the long-range artillery interception system and solidify its leading position in the field of 'comprehensive guided missile systems.'

The completion event was organized to commemorate the completion of the dedicated facility by the main agency and prototype companies involved in the development of the long-range artillery interception system and to pledge the successful completion of the development project.
The 'Dedicated Assembly/Inspection Facility for the Long-Range Artillery Interception System,' completed with an investment of 7 billion KRW, is equipped with optimized equipment and facilities such as guided missile system assembly, inspection stations, monitoring, and safety management systems.
Even after the completion of the long-range artillery interception system development, it will serve as a core facility for stable quality management. It is also expected to contribute to early operational deployment by handling mass production of the interception system thereafter.
The long-range artillery interception system is a state-of-the-art weapon system equipped with detection/tracking functions and engagement control capabilities for high-speed multi-target response, with exploratory development led by the Agency for Defense Development.
LIG Nex1, responsible for system integration for prototype development, plans to contribute to the successful development of the long-range artillery interception system, a core force of the Korean Air and Missile Defense (KAMD), based on the technology and know-how accumulated through participation in the development of precision guided weapons including Cheongung II.
