Joining the International Alliance for Responsible Drinking (IARD)
Lotte Chilsung Beverage announced on the 30th that it has joined the International Alliance for Responsible Drinking (IARD), becoming the first domestic company to do so.
Founded in 2015, IARD is an international alliance that aims to move away from reckless drinking and promote a culture of responsible drinking. It is a non-profit private organization with leading global alcoholic beverage producers as its members. IARD has been conducting various campaigns with industry-leading companies to reduce harmful drinking, including restricting minors' access to alcohol, discouraging binge drinking, and preventing drunk driving.

Starting this year, Lotte Chilsung plans to review IARD’s policy guidelines, establish internal policies, and then publicly announce the details. A Lotte Chilsung official stated, “As the first domestic company to join IARD, we have established and are implementing a ‘responsible marketing policy’ to create a proper drinking culture by alcohol producers themselves, thereby fulfilling a higher level of social responsibility.”
