Geumcheon-gu 'Seoul Eomma Appa Taxi' ... "Go Out Comfortably with Your Baby"
100,000 KRW Taxi Use Points per Infant Under 24 Months
Apply for Points and Call Taxi via Dedicated Mobile App (i.M, i.M Taxi)
Large Taxis Equipped with Child Car Seats, Air Purifiers, and Droplet Barriers Provided
Geumcheon-gu (Mayor Yoo Seong-hoon) announced that starting January 23, it will implement the ‘Seoul Mom Dad Taxi’ project to facilitate the mobility of families raising infants who need to carry many items such as strollers when going out.
‘Seoul Mom Dad Taxi’ is a program that provides families raising infants under 24 months with taxi usage points worth 100,000 KRW. Each infant is allocated 100,000 KRW in points.
Considering the implementation timing at the end of January, families raising infants born in January 2022 can apply until February 29 of this year.
Applications are open to any actual caregiver within three degrees of kinship who resides in the same household as the infant according to the resident registration. Applicants must submit a resident registration certificate (issued within one month, showing the name but not the resident registration number’s last digits) via the dedicated mobile app (i.M, i.M Taxi). Points will be credited through the app within two weeks of application. The points are valid until December 15, 2024, and any remaining points will automatically expire after the deadline.
The dedicated app is also used to call taxis. Large passenger taxis are provided, equipped with child car seats, air purifiers (including sterilization functions), and droplet protection screens.
In the 2023 pilot project, 9 out of 10 users (92.2%) reported satisfaction with the taxi service. High satisfaction was noted in the following order: kindness and safe driving (96.5%), ease of calling (94%), simplified application process (92.7%), and convenience for outings such as provision of car seats (81.3%).
Additionally, reflecting user feedback, the reservation fee has been abolished, which is expected to provide even more convenient service.
Digital vulnerable groups who have difficulty using smartphones can apply by visiting their local community service center. Taxi use can be arranged by calling the dedicated call center.
