Fire at a Farm Shack in Damyang...A Disabled Man in His 60s Dies, Surroundings Mourn
A fire at a farm shed in Damyang-gun, Jeollanam-do, resulted in the tragic death of a woman in her 60s with mobility difficulties, drawing sympathy from the community.
According to the Jeonnam Fire Headquarters on the 29th, a report was received the previous day at 5:16 PM about a fire at a container building in Damyang-eup, Damyang-gun.
A resident who saw smoke coming from a neighboring vinyl greenhouse while working in a vinyl greenhouse reportedly made the call.
The fire authorities arrived at the scene about five minutes after the report and completed initial extinguishing in about eight minutes, but Ms. A (69) was found deceased.
Ms. A, who had recently moved to Damyang and was living in the farm shed, was unable to escape due to paralysis in her lower body causing mobility difficulties.
